About the Event

Join Wildbark and the Australasian Dark Sky Alliance on the International Day of Light for this family-friendly immersion into the night environment.

 

Ideally situated on the outskirts of Canberra in the Mulligans Flat Woodland Sanctuary, Wildbark provides the perfect opportunity to stargaze, take a guided night tour in the natural enclosure, learn about the night environment, hear about our cultural connections with the night sky, or sit back and soak up the sunset.

General Entry

The event will announce the winners of the Australasian Dark Sky Alliance short video competition #ADSA_enlightened. This competition has asked participants to create a 2 - 3 minute video on the impacts of light at night, the benefits or reducing light pollution, and the ways to do so.

  • Acoustic music with Lewis Delorenzo

  • Talks on ecology, industry, and environment

  • Photographic Exhibition

Step back in time and experience the Australian bush as it was 100 years ago on this 1-hour walk through Mulligans. Bring your torches and your best animal-spotting eyes as we will embark on an adventure into the night.

You and your guide will go looking for some of the nocturnal animals that call Mulligans home, this could be possums, sugar gliders or even  - if you’re lucky - an Eastern Bettong!

 

Tours will run to a pre-booked schedule - don't miss your scheduled time.
