The Australasian Dark Sky Alliance receives a high volume of enquiries about lighting, council planning, and the creation of dark sky places. As a volunteer-led charity, we are proud to be a trusted source of information and inspiration—but we are also limited in our capacity.

We rely entirely on the support of our members, sponsors, and donors to continue this important work. While we aim to provide general guidance wherever possible, we’re unable to respond to every individual request in depth.

For more detailed enquiries—such as those relating to specific lighting projects, Australian standards, dark sky designations, speaking engagements, or tailored advice — service fees as noted below apply.

As a registered charity, ADSA ensures every dollar is used with care. Honorariums and service fees allow us to engage the skilled professionals who help deliver our events, lead technical work, and support meaningful dark sky outcomes across Australia and beyond. This ensures our work remains effective, collaborative, and grounded in expertise.
