THE TALK
In 2016 The American Medical Association (AMA) issued a warning about the human health and environmental impacts of LEDs that emit excessive blue light. The AMA-approved report backs findings of the International Dark-Sky Association (IDA) about the negative consequences of the global movement to LEDs as the preferred outdoor lighting technology.

ABOUT YOUR SPEAKER
Dr. Babu attended college at the University of Minnesota Twin Cities, receiving a BS in neuroscience and BA in psychology, both summa cum laude with highest distinction in 2005. Dr. Babu attended Harvard Medical School and received an MD cum laude in 2010. She also attended Harvard Business School, where she received her MBA in 2010. She serves on the Executive Committee of the Congress of Neurological Surgeons and chairs the Neuroscience Caucus of the American Medical Association House of Delegates. She attended a Rose Garden Ceremony and dinner at the White House in 2001 in recognition of volunteer service and was honored by President Bush in 2004 as conferee of USA Freedom Corps’ recognition for volunteer service. In 2018, she assumed the position of Director of Adult Neurotrauma at the Massachusetts General Hospital and Assistant Professor at Harvard Medical School.
